How to play PuzzleByte Endpoints

Three simple steps

Every word runs in a straight line between a matching pair of endpoint tiles.

Two blue endpoint tiles numbered 8 make a straight four-letter word that starts with H and ends with L.
1. Match

Find two tiles with the same color and number.

8: H _ _ L
Letters A and I move from the letter bank into the two blank tiles between H and L to make HAIL.
2. Fill

Use bank letters to fill each ? tile.

H + A + I + L = HAIL
The completed word HAIL is submitted, disappears, and the remaining tiles fall down.
3. Submit

Submit the word. It disappears and the board falls.

How to solve a word

Tap either endpoint to see its clue and select the full word.

  • Match the color and number.
  • Read the clue, first letter, last letter, and word length.
  • Tap a bank letter and a ? tile in either order.
  • Fill every blank, then tap Submit.
  • Repeat until no tiles remain.

What happens after a word

A valid word disappears. Tiles fall down, and empty columns slide to the right. This can create new word lines.

Helpful controls

A move can lead to a dead end. That is okay.

  • Undo place reverses your last unsubmitted letter change.
  • Remove returns a selected letter to the bank.
  • Undo word restores the last accepted word.
  • Reset starts the puzzle over.

Do I need the exact builder word?

No. Any valid dictionary word that fits between the matching endpoints can count.

Can words go across and down?

Yes. A word can be horizontal or vertical, but it must be a straight line between matching endpoints.

What if I get stuck?

Try Undo word or Reset. An order hint can show the next pair number from one known solution route without revealing the word.
